George H.W. Bush Apologizes for Sexually Assaulting Actress Heather Lind

Tuesday October 24, 2017, actress Heather Lind posted on her Instagram page that she had been sexually assaulted by former President George H.W. Bush. The alleged incident happened four years ago at a promotion for the AMC television show Turn: Washington’s Spies. Lind said Bush reached out and touched her “from behind from his wheelchair with his wife Barbara Bush by his side,” Bush then told her a sexually explicit joke and then touched her a second time.

President Bush’s representative said that the incident was an “attempt at humor” later his spokesman told Fox News “President Bush would never under any circumstance – intentionally cause anyone distress, and he most sincerely apologies if his attempt at humor offended Ms. Lind,” in a statement. President Bush has since apologized to Lind for the incident.
