New York Times says senate isn’t treating Russia harshly because of Trump. Not evident in new sanctions.

The New York Times reported that Donald Trump was forcing the senate not to treat Russia harshly because of his relationship with Vladimir Putin. The senate is actually imposing new sanctions on Russia next week as a result of the most recent illegal missile test. Trump has stated that he is being tough on Russia, and according to the leaked transcripts from his calls with Russian president Vladimir Putin, this checks out. So therefore, the New York Times got this one wrong, as the facts clearly indicate that Trump is being quite tough on the Russians, but his intention is to create a much stronger relationship, but does not intend to give them any special treatment, especially when violating missile treaties that create a safer world for all of us.
